A Different Approach to Movement & Wellness

At Move Sonoma County, movement isn’t about perfection or pressure, it’s about building strength, confidence, connection, and healthier habits in a supportive community rooted in real life. We create welcoming spaces where women and youth can move in ways that feel approachable, empowering, and sustainable through every season of life.

A Community Built for Real Life

MOVE Sonoma County is for women and youth who want more than a workout.

We work with people looking for supportive movement, genuine community, and wellness that feels sustainable through changing schedules, growing families, shifting bodies, and different stages of life. Here, you don’t need to be at a certain fitness level to belong, you just need a willingness to start where you are.

The Story Behind Move Sonoma County

From the founder, Sequoia

Move Sonoma County was built from my lifelong passion for movement, athletics, and community. As someone who grew up playing sports, competing in track, and staying active through different seasons of life, I’ve experienced firsthand how powerful movement can be — not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. Over the last 13+ years as a fitness instructor, yoga teacher, run coach, and community leader, that passion has grown into helping women and youth feel stronger, more confident, and supported in ways that go far beyond the workout itself.

Working with both women and youth has shown me that what people need most is encouragement, connection, and a safe environment where they can grow at their own pace. Whether I’m coaching a woman rebuilding strength during a new season of life or helping a young athlete build confidence, agility, and body awareness, my goal is always the same: to create supportive movement experiences that feel positive, approachable, and empowering.

Move Sonoma County was created to be a welcoming space rooted in real relationships, sustainable wellness, and movement that supports confidence for life both inside and outside of class. Over the years, that vision has expanded beyond fitness classes into wellness workshops, youth programs, and retreats that give women and families opportunities to connect, recharge, and prioritize their well-being in meaningful ways.

A Few Fun Things About Me

Because life is more than workouts and to-do lists.

1

I’ve completed two 50K ultramarathons… and still dream about running an even longer ultra someday.

2

I studied abroad in Costa Rica, and traveling continues to inspire my love for movement, wellness, and connection.

3

I’m a mom and bonus mom to teenage boys, so I understand the beauty and chaos of balancing family, work, and yourself.

4

I’m also the race director for a local community race supporting breast cancer awareness, combining my passion for movement, community, and meaningful causes.

5

I’ll choose books and audiobooks over TV almost every time.
