Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be experienced or “in shape” to join classes?

Not at all. MOVE Sonoma County was created to be a welcoming and supportive environment for all fitness levels, ages, and stages of life. Modifications are always offered, and our goal is to help you feel comfortable, capable, and encouraged from your very first class.

What types of classes and programs do you offer?

We offer strength training, yoga, yoga sculpt, prenatal fitness, personal training, youth agility and strength programs, breathwork and wellness experiences, workshops, and retreats. Our offerings are designed to support women and youth through every season of life in a way that feels approachable and sustainable.

Are your classes safe during pregnancy or postpartum?

Yes. Our instructors are certified in pre and postnatal fitness, and our prenatal classes are specifically designed to support women safely throughout pregnancy and postpartum recovery. Many of our other classes can also be modified based on your individual needs and stage of life.

What should I expect during my first class?

Expect a welcoming, judgment-free environment where you can move at your own pace. We’ll guide you through the workout, offer modifications as needed, and help you feel comfortable and supported from the moment you walk in.

What can my child expect from youth agility or strength programs?

Our youth programs focus on building confidence, coordination, athleticism, strength, and positive movement experiences in a supportive environment. We prioritize skill development, body awareness, teamwork, and helping kids feel successful through movement.

What should I bring to class?

Bring water, comfortable clothing, and a yoga mat if you prefer to use your own. Mats and equipment are also available at the studio, so all you really need to do is show up ready to move.
